February's Progress
On the last day of February I finished Chapter 10 of Kistler's You can draw in 30 days. It was a disappointing session. The first nine chapters are dedicated to teaching different techniques for understanding scale: foreshortening, placement, size, overlap, shade, shadow, contour, horizon, and density. The tenth chapter finally takes you out of that and asks you to draw an observed object. In this case, three coffee mugs placed with a light source to the upper right, to give shadow and depth.
